Why should you become a Bridge of Hope Neighboring Volunteer?
June 18, 2025

A current Neighboring Volunteer told us this: “I really appreciate Bridge of Hope’s model of neighboring and how they connect a family, volunteers and a case manager to give hope. It has been a joy to get to know our neighboring family – a great mom and two beautiful children. I like to look at it as a reciprocal blessing. Hopefully we have blessed and given our neighboring family hope. In turn, they have blessed us with their sweet spirits and friendship. We believe in the power of prayer and continue to pray for our neighboring family.”
Becoming a Neighboring Volunteer is an opportunity to walk alongside a family facing homelessness, offering tangible and emotional support. This particular group of volunteers has supported the family in various ways. They’ve visited the family at their home, taken them out to lunch, provided gift cards for groceries, and helped with emergency expenses. They keep in touch through text messages, pray for the family, celebrate the children’s birthdays, and attend neighborhood gatherings together as another way to connect.
If you’re interested in forming a support system for a family in need, we invite you to gather a group from your church or Christian faith community! To learn more about how you can Neighbor a Bridge of Hope family, contact Caleb Simmers at calebs@bridgeof hopeinc.org.
