It’s never too late to celebrate!
February 11, 2025

Is it too late to celebrate Christmas? Several groups of Neighboring Volunteers made the holiday extra special for their Neighboring Families, so we wanted to share stories about a few!
One group of volunteers gave a gift card for a massage to a mom so she could have some time to relax. They also provided her with a gift card to buy Christmas gifts for her kids. This mom really appreciated being able to do something for herself, like getting a massage. She said it made her feel cared for and she almost couldn’t believe that they would do that for her.
Another group planned a day with a family to make Christmas cookies, brought them a Christmas tree with decorations and decorated it with them. This family, made up of a mom and teenage children, had not celebrated Christmas in the past few years since they were grieving the loss of a family member and the instability of facing homelessness. They felt particularly loved and supported by the group of volunteers. Additionally, a few of the volunteers took the family to a show at Sight & Sound Theatres. The kids were very excited and grateful for the experience!
Though Christmas may feel like a memory at this point, it’s never too late to celebrate the relationships being formed in Bridge of Hope!
