Will you celebrate with Alaina?

April 11, 2024

Will you celebrate Alaina’s* accomplishments with us? She recently graduated from Bridge of Hope and has newfound stability and independence!

When she came into Bridge of Hope, she was living with a family member in a toxic situation and needed to move to a safe and stable home for her two children. With the help of the staff and her Neighboring Volunteers, she was able to find housing in her children’s current school district. Her group of Neighboring Volunteers also helped with moving and sourcing furniture for her new place. Members of the group invited the family over to their house for meals and went to the kids’ sporting events.

When Alaina had car problems, she was able to purchase a car through a Bridge of Hope board member for a very affordable price. This was crucial since lack of transportation is a huge barrier to getting to work and the kids to school. Alaina also increased her income through employment and worked to save money as she learned to be prepared for unexpected expenses. We are so happy for her and all she’s accomplished!

We are also celebrating some successes from this past fiscal year (ended March 31): We served 26 families (82 moms and children) and the average days to enter housing was 52 days (less than half of the previous year’s average!).

We couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for your support in ending family homelessness!
